Laura Lăzărescu graduated the National University of Theatre and Film (UNATC) Bucharest, Faculty of Film, Multimedia, Sound/Editing Department in 2008, and became a PhD student of UNATC since 2009. Later on, in June 2012, she got her PhD in film sound, after three years of research, including one year in Berlin, part of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) program of the Hanns Seidel Foundation. Her PhD thesis published by Niculescu Publishing House in 2013 is called "Sound Design in American Animation Film”. Since 2008, Laura Lăzărescu has been an assistant professor with UNATC, teaching sound at the Multimedia, Sound/Editing Department. Laura Lazarescu worked as a sound designer on various short and feature films, as well as animated films, most of which have been awarded at national and international film festivals, including Cannes and Gopo, and received three awards for best sound. She also worked as a collaborator on international film productions and co-productions, on cultural projects in Germany, she was the creative director of an Activision project on computer games and consoles, worked on audio-books, portfolios of various companies and foreign institutions, as well as the selection of the Berlinale Talent Campus in 2009.
