Love Building is a comedy about a camp designed to mend broken relationships. 14 couples try to break the deadlock and rebuild their love, with the help of three psychotherapists and trainers. The program lasts for 7 days and the participants go through different stages of redesigning their love lives. But the three trainers meant to assist them have problems of their own and things gradually get out of hand. In an ongoing search for the "happily ever after”, one question pops up: "Can love be fixed in seven days?”
Love Building is the feature film directorial debut of Iulia Rugină (Sink, Captivi de Crăciun / Stuck on Christmas, Vineri în jur de 11/ Friday around 11, Bună Cristina! Pa Cristina! / Hi Cristina! Bye Cristina!) and the most ambitious project of the film acting school Actoriedefilm.ro, founded by Dragoş Bucur, Alexandru Papadopol and Dorian Boguţă, who wanted to bring a type of sparkling, fresh cinema to the big screen in Romania, a cinema free from any conceptual constraint.
Love Building is an independent production, made exclusively using private funding.
The shooting took place in the summer of 2012, at the ‘Laguna Verde’ Tourist Complex and lasted for ten days. The cast of the film includes the 30 graduates of the fifth generation of actors of Actoriedefilm.ro, besides Dragoş Bucur, Dorian Boguţă and Alexandru Papadopol. The script is signed by Ana Agopian, Oana Răsuceanu and Iulia Rugină.
The film was screened in competition at B-EST International Film Festival and also in the Romanian Days at Transilvania International Film Festival TIFF 2013. It was awarded the Audience Award and the Special Mention of the Jury at B-EST.
For the first time, Dragoş Bucur, Dorian Boguţă and Alexandru Papadopol were cast mates and producers of an independent feature film. For Dragoş Bucur and Alexandru Papadopol, that was also their first time together in front of the camera, in 12 years. In 2001, the two had been the protagonists of "Stuff and Dough”, Cristi Puiu’s debut as a director.
